Tuesday September 1, 2026, | Grade 12s will be called down alphabetically for any outstanding timetables changes

Wednesday September 2, 2026, | Grade 11’s/Grade 10s will be called down alphabetically for any outstanding timetable changes

For any other questions, all students can access their Student Advisor starting Tuesday September 8, 2026.

Updates to school entry procedures

The CBE is in the process of updating how students access the school, involving locking doors during certain times, and buzzing in when doors are locked. We will communicate the full plan as soon as it is available. In the meantime, if students arrive at school and their entry door is locked, we encourage them to proceed to the main entrance, where they can be buzzed in.

Ernest Manning is a Construction Zone

Site preparation is happening to the north of our building, in preparation for 6 portable classrooms which will be completed later in the year. This construction will not displace students from their current classrooms.

EMHS School Council Corner

School Council is a wonderful way for new parents/ guardians to get involved in the life of the school. Our first council meeting of the year will take place on Wednesday, September 16 at 6pm. This meeting will be both virtual and in-person. Please use this link to register to attend. In addition, the Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 14 at 6 pm.

Bike/Scooter Reminders

There are many spaces in the bike racks to the North of the school. Ernest Manning is not immune to bike/ scooter theft. What can you do to prevent this happening to your wheels?

Please see these recommendations from Bike Calgary :

How to Lock Your Bike

  • Do not use cable locks as your main lock - they are cut in seconds with cheap cable cutters.
  • Nice wheels are worth a lot - loop a high-quality u-lock through the frame and rear wheel. Secure the front wheel with an additional cable if the wheel has a quick release.
  • Check out the site The Best Bike Lock for more info on all your lock options.

Welcome Back Barbecue for all Students

We look forward to officially welcoming back all students with a barbecue this Friday, held at the end of the day’s classes. All classes will be shortened to accommodate the event, and students will be dismissed from the barbecue to start their weekend.

Locker Distribution

What should I know about the School Store?

Not only is it a great place for our business students to gain valuable experience in all aspects of retail sales, the store sells many useful and innovative products: calculators, Keybooks, lanyards, Phys Ed gear, Math workbooks, lab goggles and amazing EMHS swag. The store will officially open Sept 8, however teachers will be bringing students down earlier to obtain needed supplies for their classes. For more information about the store, please reach out to Mr. Guglielmo. The store will be open at lunch, after school briefly, as well as for community functions such as High School Orientation and Parent/ Teacher conferences.
