Upcoming Parent Council Meeting

We are pleased to host our next Parent Council Meeting this Wednesday, February 19 (aka tomorrow!) at 6 pm, in a hybrid format. Please use this form to delare your intention to attend the meeting, either in person or virtually.

Yearbook Ordering Deadline Approaching

This year, our deadline for yearbook ordering is the end of February, as opposed to end of May as it was last year. If you haven’t ordered a yearbook yet, please find information on how to do so here.

Language Course Challenge

Grade 12 students hoping to complete a 30-level language course challenge this semester are encouraged to see Ms Roussy in Room 2103, or their student advisor in Student Services to register. Students attend two Saturday writings and earn up to 15 credits and a high mark for post-secondary by challenging CBE language courses such as Arabic, Spanish, French, Filipino, Chinese, Ukrainian etc. Deadline for registration is February 18.

Culinary Arts Menu this Week

Our Culinary Arts classes are excited to start up food service this week with the following hot food menu, in addition to all of the sides and snacks they prepare from scratch.

Tuesday: Classic EM Poutine

Wednesday: Ricotta and Beef lasagna with Caesar salad and garlic toast

Thursday: Wild boar and bison cheeseburger with bacon jam and fries

April Diploma Exam Registration

In collaboration with Western Canada High School, Manning will be offering Diploma Exams for the following students:

  1. Students in our ELA 30-2/ 30-1 hybrid course – we will register you
  2. Students who have completed a diploma course but not yet written their exam (due to illness, scheduling or other reason – please use the form here to sign up to be registered. Deadline to register is February 18.

Big Band Gala:

Tickets are open for purchase to our annual Big Band Gala on March 12! The even features Ernest Manning Music, Gold Jazz, Blue Jazz, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and junior high musical guests. This is Ernest Manning Music's biggest event of the year, supporting the cost of festivals, tours, clinics, and band camps.

Doors Open at 6:00 pm. Performances begin at 6:30 pm

Silent Auction, Wine Pull, Raffles, Red Carpet Photo Area, Hors d'oeuvres and Desserts.

  • Arena Football Intramurals starting in February!
  • Registration is Feb 10 – 12, games start Feb 19
  • 6 on 6, Teams of 8, must be co-ed
  • Touch football, 1 rusher allowed

Unique Pathways Information Night:

Interested in Dual Credit opportunities with post-secondary institutions? Want to start an apprenticeship, or begin learning a specific trade or pathway as part of your high school program? Want to be industry ready by graduation?

Families are encouraged to attend the Unique Pathways Information Night which will launch the beginning of the next application season for Summer and Fall 2025 programs. Details are as follows:

Student Voice Collection for CSSAC

Date & Time: February 26 @ Lunch

Location: Room 2203 at Ernest Manning High School

Purpose:

An opportunity for our high school's CSSAC (Chief Superintendent Student Advisory Council) members and Principal Wilson to meet with students to collect information on improving our school community.  Student voice is very important and valued. Please feel free to share this invitation with any students who may be interested in attending. 

There will be snacks provided! We look forward to seeing you at the meeting!!  If you are interested in attending the meeting, complete the Google form by the RSVP date.
