EMHS WEEKLY RUNDOWN MAY 18 - MAY 22

Greetings Griffin Families,

We sincerely hope that all our students and families are enjoying our first long weekend on the warmer side of the year!

Throughout this school year, our students have jumped into new challenges, discovered new passions, and given us so much to celebrate! While we have already kicked off some wonderful year-end celebrations—with many more to come before June 26—we still have 16 days of regular classes ahead. Our goal right now is to help the kiddos stay focused (or get focused! 😊) and finish the year in the absolute best position for a strong start next September.

Not to worry, they aren't doing it alone! An amazing team is cheering them on every step of the way—from classroom teachers, coaches, and student advisors to their favourite AP and, of course, Mr. Wilson! We are all here to support our students and ensure a fantastic finish to the year, whatever that personal success looks like for each of them.

As a complement to all of the detailed information available on the Ernest Manning High School website, here is this week’s rundown.

EMHS AWARDS

Each year, the Ernest Manning High School community comes together to honour and celebrate the achievements, character, and contributions of our outstanding students. This year’s Awards Ceremony will take place on June 3 from 6 to 8 pm and  highlights the diverse ways our Griffins strive for excellence academically, personally, and within our school community.

Among our highest academic honours is the Griffin Scholar Award, presented to students with an exceptional 95% or higher overall average in their coursework at Ernest Manning. This award reflects our scholars' dedication, discipline, and pursuit of academic excellence.

We also take great pride in recognizing students in each grade who exemplify the core values of our school through the following special awards:

  • Griffin Grit – Honouring students who demonstrate resilience, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth.
  • Griffin Heart – Celebrating those who lead with empathy, kindness, and compassion, making our school a more inclusive and caring place.
  • Griffin Trailblazer – Recognizing students who lead with vision and courage, taking initiative to create positive change in our school and beyond.

This evening is a celebration of who we are as a community—resilient, compassionate, driven, and united in our pursuit of excellence.
