Ernest Manning Weekly Rundown
June. 2 - June. 6
Greetings Griffin Families,
Well, this is it. The final week of regular classes and a short week at that. There are only TWO more days of the normal timetable, after which teachers move into credit recovery and final assessment mode. This means that for most grade 10 students, Tuesday will be your last day at school unless you are at risk of not succeeding in your courses. Please take advantage of the opportunities your teachers have shared to cross the finish line the best you can.
For grades 11 and 12, besides the credit recovery opportunities shared by your teachers, you will continue with final assessment preparation and final exams.
Whether your child will finish on the 10th or after, we wish to take this opportunity to wish all our students a great final few weeks of June, and productive and positive choices in your downtime. Student schedules for the 2025/26 school year will be available for viewing in PowerSchool on August 13.
As a complement to all of the detailed information available on the Ernest Manning High School website, here is this week’s rundown.

Culinary Arts
As food service has finished for the school year, we extend our gratitude to Chefs Champ, Peña, as well as Chef Jillian and Chef Robert, for all their dedication to students in the Culinary Arts Program, and for feeding so many students and staff members with your delicious offerings every day.
This week the final catering of the year will take place, where those involved in the Athletic Awards Banquet will have the opportunity to savour the last tasty bites of the 2024/25 year. What was your favourite Culinary Arts meal?
Book Return
Time to return all textbooks, novels and library resources to the learning commons, or on the carts provided at the entrance to the school during the exam break. All resources are due back by June 25th. Failure to do so will result in unnecessary charges to your CBE account.
Bike / Scooter Security Quiz
The best way to secure your bike or scooter on campus is:
- Leave it unlocked
- Secure it with a cable lock
- Secure it with U-lock
For the correct answer, consult this article from Bike Calgary. Love your bike? Lock it right!
Locker Clean Out
Reminder to grade 10s and 11s that they will have the same lockers next year and should make note of their combinations.
All students should clear their lockers of personal items by June 10th although they can be used during diploma exams.
All grade 12 students need to have items removed before the end of the year or they will bagged up over the summer.
Thanks for your help keeping the food critters away over summer!
EMHS Honours Awards
We are proud to share that over 1400 Ernest Manning students earned honours, each with an average of 80% or higher in their courses taken at the school. What an extraordinary accomplishment—and a true reflection of the drive, resilience, and commitment to excellence that defines the Griffin spirit.
Those students who did not pick up their honours certificates last week can now find them in them in the front office.
