EMHS WEEKLY RUNDOWN MAY 25- MAY 29
Greetings Griffin Families,
Hard to believe, but we have only 12 regular class days of the school year, with our last day of instruction on June 9. After this date, students will enter a period of final assessment, credit recovery, and opportunities for reassessment, as scheduled by their individual teachers. To find out your child’s individual responsibilities, please see the link to the final assessment schedule below, and reach out to your child’s teachers should you require further details.
As a complement to the detailed information available on the Ernest Manning High School website, here is this week’s rundown.

PARENT COUNCIL CONNECTION
Thanks to the tremendous generosity of our school community, on Friday, May 22, the staff of Ernest Manning High School was able to take time away from the hustle and bustle of end-of-the-school-year marking, planning and extra-curricular coaching to enjoy a meal together, catch up, and enjoy some down time. We truly appreciate the gift of food and fellowship provided by our families through the Staff Appreciation Lunch.
School Council and Parent Advisory Committee have now concluded for this school year. Meetings will resume in September. Please consider becoming involved in either of these worthwhile groups.

EMHS AWARDS
Each year, the Ernest Manning High School community comes together to honour and celebrate the achievements, character, and contributions of our outstanding students. This year’s Awards Ceremony will take place on June 3 from 6 to 8 pm and highlights the diverse ways our Griffins strive for excellence academically, personally, and within our school community.
Among our highest academic honours is the Griffin Scholar Award, presented to students with an exceptional 95% or higher overall average in their coursework at Ernest Manning. This award reflects our scholars' dedication, discipline, and pursuit of academic excellence.
We also take great pride in recognizing students in each grade who exemplify the core values of our school through the following special awards:
- Griffin Grit – Honouring students who demonstrate resilience, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth.
- Griffin Heart – Celebrating those who lead with empathy, kindness, and compassion, making our school a more inclusive and caring place.
- Griffin Trailblazer – Recognizing students who lead with vision and courage, taking initiative to create positive change in our school and beyond.
This evening is a celebration of who we are as a community—resilient, compassionate, driven, and united in our pursuit of excellence.
Students and families will receive personalized email invitations to the event at the end of May.
In addition to our formal awards, students who achieve an overall average of 80% or higher in their courses at Ernest Manning will receive an Honours Certificate in recognition of their consistent hard work and academic success. Students will receive their certificates on June 9 after school.
