Ernest Manning Weekly Rundown

May. 05 - May. 09

Greetings Griffin Families,

If I could title this edition of the Rundown, it would be called Spring has Sprung. We welcome the warm weather and the fresh grass and leaves that are sprouting which signal many beautiful days ahead. While the change in the seasons can be distracting, it is important for students to stay focused on their school commitments to their coursework and to each other. As we are now in the final 5 weeks of classes, let’s work together to make the end of this school year positive and productive. Summer’s coming.

As a complement to all of the detailed information available on the Ernest Manning High School website, here is this week’s rundown.

EMHS Casino Fundraiser – Save the date!

Charitable Gaming through the AGLC allows community groups to raise much needed funds by having members work casino shifts over a designated 2-day period. Thanks to the dedication of our Parent Council, EMHS has been granted a Casino Fundraiser for the upcoming school year.  The EMHS casino dates will be Oct 24 and 25 2025 at Cowboys Casino. In order to confirm our commitment, we are required to forward volunteer information before the end of this school year.

Parent Council needs to fill various shifts (chip runner, count room, etc. ) plus the casino chair position. If you can be available to work one shift (you get fed!!) to support this worthwhile endeavour, please email chair@emhscouncil.com to sign up or to ask any follow up questions.

OFF-CAMPUS EDUCATION

Did you know?

All CBE students may choose to attend the Career & Technology Centre (CTC) for part of the day, regardless of which high school they attend. The CTC provides continuous access to academic, industry-standard programs, certificated journeyperson instructors, facilities and equipment for students seeking credentials in skilled occupations. As part of their high school timetable, students may choose to access introductory, intermediate, and advanced or credential level programs.

If you're interested in taking two classes at the CT Centre (located beside Central Memorial High School) next year, please see your Student Advisor as soon as possible.

Follow this link in order to explore the available courses—make sure to check it out!

Important: Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the CT Centre.

If you have any questions regarding the CT Centre and pathway options, please connect with your student advisor (alphabetical by last name).
