Introductory Outdoor Pursuits
Prerequisite: No Prerequisite Required
The primary aim of the program is to develop student abilities so that they may competently enter the outdoor education/guiding industry with the appropriate certification and experience. The program begins in the winter semester and culminates the following fall semester.

Intermediate Outdoor Pursuits
Prerequisite: Introductory Outdoor Pursuits
An interest in outdoor activities with the willingness to spend multiple days and nights in the wilderness. Grade 11 students will have registration priority however; if space is available, Grade 10 students may submit an application to the Outdoor Pursuits Instructor for early admittance
Course fee will apply. Fees include: Wilderness first aid certification, avalanche skills training level 1 certification, transportation, permits, guiding costs and all trip expenses. Fees do not cover individual gear & food
Content: Intermediate Outdoor Pursuits is a 7 credit course designed for students interested in exploring human power outdoor activities. Students gain wilderness experience and environmental awareness along with an opportunity for certification in Wilderness First Aid (24 HRS) and Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 (16 HRS). Students will have the chance to learn through experience as multiple multi-day trips and day excursions make up a significant portion of this course.
Advanced Outdoor Pursuits
Prerequisite: Intermediate Outdoor Pursuits
Course Fees will apply. Fees Include: Wilderness first aid (40 HRS) certification, transportation, permits, guiding costs and all trip expenses. Fees do not include individual gear and food
Outdoor Pursuits 35 is a 6 credited course designed for students to be involved in advanced wilderness skills development with the opportunity for practical leadership training and certification in Wilderness First Aid (40HRS).
