Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year

On behalf of the staff at Ernest Manning High School, I am delighted to welcome all students and their families to the upcoming school year. We are thrilled to reconnect with our returning students and to warmly welcome those joining us for the first time. The year ahead is filled with opportunities for every student to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, let us embrace the challenges, celebrate the successes, and cherish the moments that shape each student’s unique learning journey.

At the heart of our work is a strong commitment to building meaningful partnerships with parents and guardians. We aim to keep you well-informed and engaged in your child’s educational experience. I encourage all parents to review the following important resources:

·      CBE Assessment and Reporting Guidelines

·      Parent Communication Cheat Sheet (to be shared closer to the start of the school year)

·      Administrative Regulation 6005Student Code of Conduct

·      Administrative Regulation 6006Progressive Discipline

These documents help support consistent and transparent communication and reinforce a shared focus on student learning.

As a school community, we continue to develop Ernest Manning High School into a vibrant campus model where students learn in ways that best suit their interests, spaces, and preferred learning styles. For those seeking academic enrichment, we offer a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses that allow students to dive deeper into subjects and potentially earn post-secondary credits. Additionally, through the CBE’s Unique Pathways Partnerships, students can pursue dual credit opportunities—earning both high school and post-secondary credits while exploring future career pathways. For more information, please reach out to our Student Services Team.

Beyond the classroom, we strongly encourage all students to get involved in our school community—whether through clubs, teams, or leadership opportunities. Participation in extracurricular activities not only enriches the high school experience but also builds a greater sense of belonging, which research shows is linked to improved academic success. We hope every student finds something they’re passionate about and gets involved.

Parents and guardians are also invited to take an active role in our school through School Council or other volunteer opportunities. Details about how to get involved will be shared in the coming days—please stay tuned.

As we begin this exciting new school year, we look forward to working closely with our students and their families. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me or one of our Assistant Principals:

Here’s to a year of connection, growth, and continuing to build a strong school community!

Sincerely,
Mike Wilson
